At LongestWordInTheWorld.com, we’re obsessed with one question: what’s the longest word?
“Longest word” has no single answer. It depends on whether you count dictionary entries, technical terms, place names, or words coined as jokes. We try to say which kind each word is, so you know what you’re looking at.

How we work
Long-word lists online are full of copied claims, miscounted letters, and words that quietly don’t exist. Before we publish a word, we check its spelling, letter count, and meaning against dictionaries, Guinness World Records, and encyclopedias. When sources disagree, we tell you, instead of picking one number and hoping nobody notices.
